As a child, I was inspired musically by my mother, a singer, and my grandfather, a ragtime pianist. My father was a music lover, too, and liked to point out that he was the one who paid for my lessons! Throughout my childhood, and later into high school and college, I studied under a wide variety of voice and piano teachers. Upon graduating, I spent a little time as a singer-songwriter in Nashville, T.N., and went on to pursue music in a variety of other ways.
In my journey as a musician, I have accompanied instrumentalists and dancers; played for musical theatre productions; performed in churches; and taught other aspiring musicians. I have shared my music with retirement communities, recreation centers, and other organizations which help those who are too often underserved. My goal is to make music accessible to people of all walks of life, and to help make the world a little better in my own small way.
At this juncture in my life, I find solace in creating pieces that speak to the heart, and which induce peace and tranquility. I am creatively inspired by nature, and seek to capture it in my music, poetry, and photography. At this juncture in my life, I find solace in creating pieces that speak to the heart, and which induce peace and tranquility. I am creatively inspired by nature, and seek to capture it in my music, poetry, and photography. Through music, I am able to place positive energy into the world, where it can give strength and solace to those who are struggling. Though music cannot “magically” cure anything, many studies have shown that it can help tremendously with stress relief. This, in turn, can help alleviate many physical stress responses. If you are a wellness director, recreation therapist, yoga teacher, or miscellaneous health-and-wellness employee, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to helping your students, residents, or patients find relaxation and healing.

"The workshop work Nancy did was a very unique experience. The sound bath had me feeling so refreshed. It was a great way to reset and get ready for the new year! "
Brittany Marin - Owner of Victory Power Yoga
This pic was taken at the High Point Arts Council, for the members of the Pullman Poet Society. Following is a testimony from one of the members: " I've attended other Sound baths and the sounds were presented too loudly or too intense, not something I could take my son to, who is sensitive to such things , but I wanted to try this sound bath first to see how it was presented and this is something I think even sensitive people like my son could attend and I will bring him next time. " Beverly Lewis
"This was my second Sound Bath with Nancy and I was amazed again at the depth of emotions that sounds bring out in some of the participants. And the variety and ranges of experiences that the sounds bring out in people, it is such a joy to behold. Really something that everyone has to experience for themselves." Paige Wilhoit - Director
"I recently attended Nancy Pitkin’s Sound Healing Workshop, and I must say, it was a truly transformative experience. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in a serene atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. Her expertise and passion for healing was evident throughout the session. The workshop provided a perfect blend of theory and practice, allowing me to understand the principles behind sound healing while also experiencing its profound effects firsthand. Through a variety of techniques such as Tibetan singing bowls, tuning forks, singing, humming, and Native American chanting, I felt my body and mind entering a state of deep relaxation Overall, I left the workshop feeling rejuvenated, balanced, and with a newfound appreciation for the power of sound in healing. I highly recommend this workshop!" Gratia Wright
