As a child, I was inspired musically by my mother, a singer, and my grandfather, a ragtime pianist. My father was a music lover, too, and liked to point out that he was the one who paid for my lessons! Throughout my childhood, and later into high school and college, I studied under a wide variety of voice and piano teachers. Upon graduating, I spent a little time as a singer-songwriter in Nashville, T.N., and went on to pursue music in a variety of other ways.
In my journey as a musician, I have accompanied instrumentalists and dancers; played for musical theatre productions; performed in churches; and taught other aspiring musicians. I have shared my music with retirement communities, spiritual centers, and other organizations. My goal is to make music accessible to people of all walks of life, and to help make the world a little better in my own small way.
At this juncture in my life, I find solace in creating pieces that speak to the heart, and which induce peace and tranquility. I am creatively inspired by nature, and seek to capture it in my music, poetry, and photography. Through music, I am able to place positive energy into the world, where in can create a feeling of serenity and can also be inspiring.

My previous CD, “Sunset Over the Mountains” features Native American style flute and pan flute. With my instrumental pieces I focus on relaxing, healing music that soothes the soul. Last year, "Canopy of Blue," another instrumental CD, was released by STOMP music of Seoul, South Korea. (Stomp Music released a hit single by Yiruma in the movie "Twilight.") Canopy of Blue is relaxing piano with Native American style flute. My last project, for older adults, “Happy Songs & Happy Memories'" is now available in the S & S Worldwide catalog. It features hits from the 70's & 80's. The Folksong Favorites CD with Vocal Toning for Wellness, was tailored especially for wellness directors. Please click "Links to purchase music" for more info.

"Nancy creates such a beautiful space for reflection and growth. He sound healing workshops are a mix of original piano pieces and sounds from a variety of healing instruments. I felt the connection with earth and God throughout the workshop, grounded and elevated all at the same time. It is a joyful part of healing to attend one of Nancy's workshops. She incorporates movement and healing sound seamlessly to provide and wonderful experience. I highly recommend you treat yourself and experience the beautiful gift of sound healing with Nancy." Erin Martinez - instructor at Victory Power Yoga
I've attended other Sound Baths and the sounds were presented too loudly or too intense, not something I could take my son to, who is sensitive to such things , but I wanted to try this sound bath first to see how it was presented and this is something I think even sensitive people like my son could attend and I will bring him next time. " Beverly Lewis - Director of the High Point Arts Council
"I recently attended Nancy Pitkin’s Sound Healing Workshop, and I must say, it was a truly transformative experience. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in a serene atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. Her expertise and passion for healing was evident throughout the session. The workshop provided a perfect blend of theory and practice, allowing me to understand the principles behind sound healing while also experiencing its profound effects firsthand. Through a variety of techniques such as Tibetan singing bowls, tuning forks, singing, humming, and Native American chanting, I felt my body and mind entering a state of deep relaxation Overall, I left the workshop feeling rejuvenated, balanced, and with a newfound appreciation for the power of sound in healing. I highly recommend this workshop!" Gratia Wright
